چکیده
Abstract A light-trapping transparent electrode design based on sub-surface binary dielectric gratings is introduced and demonstrated experimentally. The structure consists of metallic wires patterned with an array silicon nanobeams. Optimization the grating geometry achieves selective suppression zero-order diffraction, while enabling redirection incident light to angle that exceeds critical local environment. Subsequent total-internal reflection allows recovery initially metal wire. Experiments involving amorphous gold demonstrate a efficiency exceeding 41 %. Modeling crystalline nanobeams silver suggests shadowing loss reduction 82 % feasible. achievement large using coplanar high manufacturing tolerance polarization-insensitive optical response makes this promising candidate for integration in wide range real-world photonic devices.

Diffractive optical devices produced by light-assisted trapping of nanoparticles.
One- and two-dimensional diffractive optical devices have been fabricated by light-assisted trapping and patterning of nanoparticles. The method is based on the dielectrophoretic forces appearing in the vicinity of a photovoltaic crystal, such as Fe:LiNbO3, during or after illumination. By illumination with the appropriate light distribution, the nanoparticles are organized along patterns desig...

An optical electrode design is presented that theoretically allows 100% optical transmission through an interdigitated metallic electrode at 50% metal areal coverage. This is achieved by redirection of light incident on embedded metal electrode lines to an angle beyond that required for total internal reflection. Full-field electromagnetic simulations using realistic material parameters demonst...
متن کاملTransparent polymer solar cells employing a layered light-trapping architecture
Organic solar cells have unique properties that make them very attractive as a renewable energy source. Of particular interest are semi-transparent cells, which have the potential to be integrated into building façades yet not completely block light. However, making organic cells transparent limits the metal electrode thickness to a few nanometres, drastically reducing its reflectivity and the ...
متن کاملSilver Grid Transparent Conducting Electrodes for Organic Light Emitting Diodes
Polymer organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) were fabricated using thin silver hexagonal grids replacing indium tin oxide (ITO) as the transparent conducting electrodes (TCE). Previous literature has assumed that thick metal grids (several hundred nanometres thick) with a lower sheet resistance (< 10 Ω/□) and a similar light transmission (> 80 %) compared to thinner grids would lead to OLEDs w...
متن کاملFlexible, transparent electrodes using carbon nanotubes
We prepare thin single-walled carbon nanotube networks on a transparent and flexible substrate with different densities, using a very simple spray method. We measure the electric impedance at different frequencies Z(f) in the frequency range of 40 Hz to 20 GHz using two different methods: a two-probe method in the range up to 110 MHz and a coaxial (Corbino) method in the range of 10 MHz to 20 G...
